Welcome to Rifugio San Gaspare

This will be a place for prayer and study.

Missionaries of the Most Precious Blood seek to dedicate themselves to the service of the Church through the apostolic and missionary activity of the ministry of the word.

We are called to a faithful celebration of the Most Holy Mysteries in the Eucharist, the Sacraments and in the Daily Prayer of the Church.

We seek to be faithful to the charism of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, the teachings of the Fathers, and all that is handed down in Tradition, which the Church either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium sets forth to be believed as divinely revealed.

Let me be the first to say "BRAVO!"

Maybe I'll be in the minority, but I don't particularly care for the change... The New Gasparian was the first Catholic blog I ever read. It feels very sad to click on the link and not see that familiar red look... Maybe it's just the traditionalist in me, but the change is very disturbing.

Tonight I shall have a drink in honor of the memory of the old blog template (and the similar ones before the last one).

However, I wish you the best of luck in this new endeavor and will continue to read always, of course.

Hi, Father Jeff,

I really think the site, or any site like it, needs a little statement somewhere easy to find called something like "Who we are" that says this is a personal blog run by Rev. Jeffrey R. Keyes, CPPS, pastor of St. Edward Church, Newark, CA and not an official CPPS website.

Even if there is much less discussion of the joys and trials of your ministry at St. Edward and commentary on liturgical practices and links to discussions of church controversies, I think your readers and your community would appreciate having your visitors know that 1. you find St. Gaspar and the community a great gift and influence in your life, and 2. that you are writing as an individual and not as part of a formal mission that has been entrusted to you by the community.

Links to official Precious Blood Family websites would be something to consider providing your visitors and fans, too.

I can't help adding that the site is clean and restful, and that the text seems readable.

best, Maureen

Hi Maureen, Take a look at the About section and tell me waht more needs to be said.

As Pastor of a Precious Blood Parish, I think I need no further mandate to speak for the community or the Church, unless anything I say is denied or challenged by a Provincial or the Bishop.

The Only CPPS site left is the International one, and the other sites could be found there.

I either have a formal mandate to speak and preach for the community or I do not speak. John Paul II asaked us as missionaries, even if alone, to have the community with us and represent it at all times. (Redemptoris Missio)
