This Morning's Reading

Well, I just finished reading it, and while I don't personally like the older form, I think the document does an excellent job of walking a thin and difficult line. B16 makes it clear that the Missal of 1970 is not going away, and that it is the normative form of the Latin Rite. In many ways, "Summorum Pontificum" is asking us to treat Mass according to the Missal of 1962 as we would Mass in another language. If there is a genuine desire/need on the part of a group of the faithful of a parish who desire this, then we should do all we can to se that they are served.

Father Jeff,

Thank you so much for posting a link to a translation into English, albeit not a Vatican one.

It's a mystery to me why the Vatican website has it only in Latin.
