Dinner for 150. This year I roasted six legs of lamb, Fr. Mike had the pork, the Lituanian and Polish Sausages, and the Ham. The Jesuits brought the vegetables.

150!!!!!
The only times I have greeted that many people at my door were for my daughters' weddings.
It makes my 10 for dinner seem sparse - which it is for me but even the potential 24 that I could have with all of my children, their spouses and the grandchildren in attendance seems like a piece of cake compared to 150!!!!!
At least my ten were able to sit around the dining room table which is my most favorite piece of furniture.
I like the idea of blaming Jesuits for vegetables...

I'm going to have to figure out when I can get in to see that chapel and hear your schola.
I have no doubt that yours was the second best sung Exsultet in all of Chicagoland. ;-)
Jeff did a great job marinating the lamb roasts, and especially did a wonderful job with the liturgy during all of Holy Week, I especially like the chanters during the acting out of the Passion of Christ on Good Friday Evening, but all of it, Wednesday Evening's reconciliation service, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday services were pretty amazing! The 150 who attended dinner were a lot of fun. We had an amazing number of people in the kitchen and the dining room! I was asked if I could make the gravy; I did and it turned out great, but suprised me as I thought all that garlic would not make the drippings a good candidate for gravy (thought it would be too strong, but it wasn't). Hence, we will always have gravy with the lamb roasts going forward according to Jeff! Jeff's lamb roasts went quickly with no left-overs (YUMMY!). Where previously I always observed Good Friday, Easter Vigil and/or Easter Sunday, after my experience with Calvert House, and the liturgy and music of this Holy week, the students who assisted with the liturgy, the great choir led by Jeff, Fr. Michael's enthusiam, and the warmth of Kathy and Betti's interaction with the students and all of us, I not only had my best Holy Week/Easter Tridium ever, but going forward I will always set aside the time to experience the entire tradition of each day of Holy Week, as it's an amazing experience! There is such a great atmosphere at Calvert house, and this is owed to the students, Kathy, Betti, and Fr. Michael and many others who help out on a day to day basis. They provide many worthy activities for a variety of social causes, and the enthusiasm of the students is pretty electric, and I've never seen anything quite like them. I was blessed to experience this, and enjoyed spending Holy Week in Chicago with my brother, and the members of Calvert House!
