From left to right, Deacon Jeffrey Finley, CPPS (who now serves as pastor of St. Edward), Provincial Director Fr. Paul Link, CPPS, Doug Crandall serving as Acolyte, Provincial Formation Director Fr. James Sloan CPPS who was my predecessor as Pastor of St. Barnabas, and myself reciting the Act of Incorporation quoted above. Hidden behind Doug Crandal is GDC, the heretic, the Director of Advanced Formation. Hidden behind me is Sr. Suzanne Toolan, SM, a dear friend who directer the music. The Choir was made up of choir members from St. Leander, St. Edward, St. Francis DeSales and the Vineyard Choir, all choirs I had directed. It was a memorable moment.
Congratulations! May the good Lord be with you day in and day out and may he bless you in a special way as you get ready to resume pastoral work in his vineyard. Our prayers will be part of the support that you will need in looking after the souls that the Lord is entrusting to you. Y mucha felicidad!
Congratulations. I'm not sure if it is easier to look back or to look forward. 14 years ago as you looked forward to ordination and a life of service, I'm sure that you dreamed big dreams and were full of hope. As you look back, own the successes and thank God for them and learn from the rest. Pastor, teacher, friend, you have been inspiration encouragement, motivation - as well as fun to be with.
