Special Prayers Wanted

| | Comments (8)

Mark and Betty Squier serve as the Resource Enrichment Team along with Fr. Jerry Foley. They are here in California serving on the International Board for Retrouvaille. All the while their sons are serving in Iraq. Recently Mike got a chance to cross paths with his brother Dave over in Kirkuk. Please keep these guys in prayer, and say one for their parents too. Mark and Betty are going to send this web address to Dave and Mike so they can see this and I am sure they would appreciate seeing you post prayers for them and their buddies over there.

To Jeffrey and all,
Thanks for the prayers, and thank you for posting our picture! It's great knowing that there are wonderful people out there that have faith and that support our nation.

Sincerely,
Dave Squier
Staff Sergeant, Michigan Army National Guard

Dear Dave & Mike,

You are in our prayers for a safe return to home. Mark & Betty's sons are our sons. Your fellow soldiers are our sons and daughters and we pray for all of you to be safe. We pray for you to each remember that Jesus is with you always.

Dave & Maria Elena Byron
Reetrouvaille team couple

My prayers are with all of our brave young people in Iraq, Afghanistan, and everywhere else they are giving their lives in service to Freedom and the protection of their fellow Americans, especially those like the Squiers, who have more than one child in the Middle East.

The scandal that has arisen in one prison in Iraq has been unfairly used by the media and many politicians to besmirch the quality and good intentions of all our soldiers.

Like the many good and holy priests who have been persecuted and reviled during the Church scandal, I pray for all of our soldiers to receive all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, particularly fortitude, so that this may be a time of immense grace for them.

May God bless both of you, Dave and Mike, and all of your fellow soldiers as you do God's work helping the Iraqi people learn to value, establish, and maintain freedom.

In Christ's peace and love,

Robin L. in TX

My prayers are with you Mike and Dave. Keep the faith and know that you are very much loved and admired for what you do. May the Lord keep you safe and bring you ALL home soon...!

Mike and Dave-
Please know that my prayers are with you. May God protect you and bless you for your sacrifices. Many many people are praying for you and appreciate what you are doing and who you are.
Mark and Betty-
My prayers are with you also! My son was there twice during the past 16 months and the prayers of others (added to my constant prayers)were one of the few things that helped me get through the awful days. I recommend a very good book that touches the hearts of parents of those who are in the military: "Faith of our Sons" by Frank Schaeffer. It helped me to know that I was not alone in my fear. God bless.

Dear Mike and Dave,

As you serve our country in faith and courage remember to depend on Christ at all times and in all things because no matter what happens (no matter what you see, hear, say or do) God is the only one who is all powerful, ever-present and all knowing. May you find comfort in knowing that He is with you and he never leaves you. Keep in mind that Christ knows you and he loves you. During your tour, may you become a soldier for Christ, first of all, and be for him the "light of the world" and "the salt of the earth." Draw on the gifts of the Holy Spirit that you received at baptism/confirmation and turn to Mary, your mother, night and day and she will pray with you always so that you will stay safe in mind, body and spirit.

I will say these and many more prayers for you and for all the people in Iraq.

Sincerely your sister in Christ, Mary

They have been added to my long list of those for whom prayer is urgent and necessary.

prayers offered up!
