Happy New Year

| | Comments (2)

During the new year may you have....

Enough happiness to keep you sweet.
Enough trials to keep you strong.
Enough sorrow to keep you human.
Enough hope to keep you happy.
Enough failure to keep you humble.
Enough success to keep you eager.
Enough friends to give you comfort.
Enough wealth to meet your needs.
Enough enthusiasm to make you look forward to tomorrow.
Enough determination to make each day better than the day before.

Over the past months, I have been engaged in trying to get a handle on what a spirituality of aging looks and feels like and how that integrates with a spirituality of the Precious Blood. Being blessed with reasonably good health, and with minor lapses, all of my faculties, it is usually easy for me to live my life day by day accepting the happiness, success, friends, and sufficient wealth as gifts from God to be used to spread the Kingdom. The trials, sorrows, failures are accepted in the spirit of St. Gaspar with what joy can be mustered and often with a great sigh. The key is to foster the hope, enthusiasm and determination in order to make the remaining years productive, fulfilling, and pleasing to God. Happy New Year to all.

May this new year be a time of great blessings for you and the people you serve.
