Saint Gaspar had a spiritual relationship with the Cistercians of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme. It appears that he was related to one of our abbots. He often prayed before the relics in the basilica. He preached a number of retreats to the Cistercian community. There is, you see, an historical precedent for collaboration!
