Today is the fifth anniversary of this memorable statement.

That's an inspiring address!

The bit about converting the bandits between Rome and Naples is especially interesting to me. The home of my Onoratelli ancestors in Campania was, throughout the 1700s and 1800s, known to be a safe place, one of the few places that those famous bandits dared not approach.
